Verwood has general practices and repair options, but a lab that makes every denture discipline in-house with a registered Clinical Dental Technician who fits them himself is rare, and it is the reason a Verwood patient makes the trip to us.
Bring it straight in and it is usually repaired the same day.
Come down the A31 and, in most cases, we repair it the same day, often within the hour, with a Clinical Dental Technician on site to fit and adjust it. Please don't glue it, because pieces glued out of position cannot be worked to. Every repair carries a two-week guarantee, and if it breaks again we look at why rather than just repairing it twice.
How a repair works today
Don't glue it, bring it in
It is almost impossible to line the pieces up accurately by hand, and once the glue has set out of position we cannot work to it. Pop it in a tub and bring it into the Poole lab.
We repair it on the bench
We cast a model off the fit surface, trim the crack for the strongest bond and cure fresh acrylic under pressure, usually the same day.
Fitted and checked before you leave
A Clinical Dental Technician is on site, so if it needs adjusting it is done there and then. We will not leave you stranded.
Please don't reach for the superglue, or a chemist's repair kit. Almost nobody can line the broken pieces up accurately by hand, and once the glue has set with them out of position we cannot work to that denture, because any model we cast from it would be wrong too. We then have to take a fresh impression, break it apart again and repair it to that, which takes longer and costs more. Bring the pieces in as they are and we will do it right.

We should be straight about one thing. Our home-visit service covers a 10-mile radius of the lab, and Verwood sits just outside it, about 12 miles away. So unlike some nearer towns, we don't routinely offer home visits to Verwood. If a denture breaks, though, bring it straight in and it is usually a same-day fix.
