The man who fits your teeth, and the bench behind him
John has spent around fifty years at the bench. He learned the trade as an apprentice in his father’s laboratory, bought Wessex in 1990, and is a chrome specialist who still casts frames the careful way, the kind of craft that is getting harder to find.
When you come to Wessex, you are not a job number in a courier bag. Your denture is made on our own benches, in the building you visit, by technicians you can meet, and it is fitted and adjusted by our own CDT. Nobody in that chain is a stranger, and we are all still here if anything changes. That is the whole point.

Calm, honest, and never rushed
We know a dental problem can be worrying, especially a denture that has broken or stopped fitting. So we keep things calm and plain. We look, we listen, and we explain your options without jargon or pressure.
A dentist visits the lab every Wednesday for oral-health checks and referrals, so if you cannot easily register with a dentist elsewhere, we can still help you get the treatment you need.
We also work hand in hand with dentists across Dorset, taking on the full range of work so a practice can rely on one lab instead of five.
