Covering Bournemouth and the districts around it
Bournemouth sits inside our home-visit area, and the lab is an easy run in for a consultation, a fitting or a same-day repair.
Easy to reach from Bournemouth
Our lab is at Unit 10, Holes Bay Park, Sterte Avenue West, Poole (BH15 2AA), with parking on site. It is an easy drive in for your free consultation, a fitting or a same-day repair.
Or we can come to you
Housebound? John, our Clinical Dental Technician, also visits patients at home, in hospital or in a care home within about 10 miles of the lab. He takes the whole denture, from impressions to the final fitting, in your own room.
A denture specialist, not a clinic that sends the work out
Bournemouth has plenty of dental practices, and many of them are geared towards implants and cosmetic work. Dentures are often a small part of what they do, and the actual denture is usually made by a laboratory somewhere else.
We are that laboratory, working directly with patients. It is all we do, day in and day out. When your denture is loose, worn or broken, you deal with the technician who makes it, not a receptionist passing a message to an outside lab.
For an older, coastal town like Bournemouth that matters most in two situations: a denture that breaks at the worst possible time, and a relative who can no longer travel. We cover both, which is why so many Bournemouth patients make the short trip to Poole or ask us to come to them.

A broken denture is usually fixed the same day, often within the hour.
Bring it straight in to the Poole lab, about 4.6 miles from Bournemouth. Most repairs are done the same day, some in as little as 30 to 90 minutes, and a Clinical Dental Technician is on site to fit and adjust it before you leave.
How a repair works today
Don't glue it, bring it in
It is almost impossible to line the pieces up accurately by hand, and once the glue has set out of position we cannot work to it. Pop it in a tub and bring it into the Poole lab.
We repair it on the bench
We cast a model off the fit surface, trim the crack for the strongest bond and cure fresh acrylic under pressure, usually the same day.
Fitted and checked before you leave
A Clinical Dental Technician is on site, so if it needs adjusting it is done there and then. We will not leave you stranded.
Please don't reach for the superglue, or a chemist's repair kit. Almost nobody can line the broken pieces up accurately by hand, and once the glue has set with them out of position we cannot work to that denture, because any model we cast from it would be wrong too. We then have to take a fresh impression, break it apart again and repair it to that, which takes longer and costs more. Bring the pieces in as they are and we will do it right.

Made in our Poole lab, fitted by John, a registered CDT
John has been making dentures for the best part of fifty years and took over Wessex Dental Laboratory in 1990. He is a GDC-registered Clinical Dental Technician and a chrome specialist, and he fits the dentures that leave our bench himself.
That is unusual. Most Bournemouth patients are used to a dentist taking impressions and an unseen lab making the teeth. Here, the person at the bench is the person who sees you.
- Made on our bench, fitted by our CDTYour denture is made on our own benches in Poole and fitted by John himself, so nothing is lost between the workshop and your mouth.
- Every discipline under one roofAcrylic, cobalt-chrome, flexible and implant-retained dentures, plus repairs, all made in the Poole lab.
- We won't leave you strandedIf something isn't right we'll put it right. Every repair carries a two-week guarantee, and if it breaks again we look at why rather than just repairing it twice.
What our patients say
Real reviews from patients on Google. Individual results vary, and yours is made specifically for you.
Today I attended your laboratory with broken dentures, and within 2 hours you had taken impressions, repaired my denture and even placed a missing tooth. An amazing service and just in time for my daughter's wedding tomorrow.
After years of problems it is so good to have a denture that fits and to be able to eat all types of food with no problem.
I had not been able to eat properly for such a long time and now I enjoy every meal. So comfortable to wear.
Thank you John for fitting me with a perfect small denture. It was painless and fits very comfortably.
I recently had to have a bridge extracted and was dreading dentures. John gave me an option of implants. My implant bridge looks so natural. I am over the moon.
A million thanks for my new dentures. I was able to go away on holiday with my new set of teeth.
